Title: Knowledge Graph enhanced LLM Inference
Abstract: In the recent past, LLMs have caused a major disruption in the way NLP related tasks are performed. However, LLM models are black box models which may underperform in terms of capturing and accessing factual knowledge. It is well known that Knowledge Graphs such as Wikipedia and Huaapu are better candidates for explicitly storing rich factual knowledge which is why these structures can endow LLMs with external knowledge which may help with inference and interpretation. In this talk, we explore some of the techniques of KG enhanced LLM inferencing. As a concrete case study, we consider the ICD code assignment problem and discuss how ICD ontology can facilitate LLM to assign ICD codes to clinical text in the scenario of zero-shot and few-shot learning. Lastly, we mention the scope of ICD ontology aided prediction of ICD codes by LLM for labeled data sets, which can lead to enhancement of performance on public domain datasets like MIMIC III.
This talk is based on general literature available in the field.
